Hello crafty friends! Well, the holiday season is starting up, and I’m sure I’m not alone when I say that I’m not ready!
I have plans to make a few DIY decorations this year, and what better way to start than with a wooden pallet sign? These things are very trendy right now, as I’m sure you’ve seen them in the stores. This home-made version is easy to make, and of course you can use whatever words you like on it. I am using the awesome Tape Technologies Luster vinyl for this sign, which is gorgeous.
First, I started with a wooden pallet sign, that I found in Walmart. It is unfinished wood, so to give a nice surface to adhere my vinyl I gave it a coating of Mod Podge Extreme Glitter. (If you haven’t tried this product before, I certainly recommend it. It gives a nice clear and sealed matt finish to your item, with the added bonus of glitter!)
Now for the FUN part! I downloaded a stylish font, and created my cut file for my Silhouette Cameo using the Studio software. I added some cute snowflakes for extra detail. I decided to use Magenta vinyl for my sign; I know this isn’t a ‘traditional’ holiday colour, but it is such a lovely shade. Here are the other colours available – as you can see, this product has a lovely matt metallic shine to it:
So here is my finished sign! I think it has turned out wonderfully, and will become part of our holiday decorations for years to come.
Here’s wishing you and your families a wonderful holiday season, and a very happy New Year!

I always wondered where the pallet sign blanks were coming from. So glad to know and your sign turned out great.
