LOVE is certainly in the air this month, and here is a great low-cost Valentine home decor idea.
For this project, I have used some cool blank wooden letters I picked up at the dollar store for $2.50. To make the stunning red details, I have used StyleTech Craft Polished Metal vinyl in Red. Check out the rest of the fabulous colours in this range!
Now, I know what you’re going to say: “that says LIVE not LOVE!”. And you’d be right, of course. BUT, my idea was to cover the ‘O’ of LOVE with a large heart, so I guess it didn’t really matter if it was an ‘I’ or an ‘O’. Right? Please give me lots of high-fives for using my existing stash instead of going out to buy more stuff. Yay me, sticking to one of my New Year’s resolutions at least. (That one about eating less potato-based snack products isn’t going well at all..) 🙂
So first, I made my heart. This lace heart design came from the Silhouette Design Store. I cut this from the red polished metal vinyl, and placed it onto a white cardstock scalloped heart background. This is now the ‘O’ of love. Get it? 🙂
For the rest of the letters, I cut smaller plain hearts from the red vinyl, and ahered them randomly. I The ‘I’ of Live has been adhered to the ‘L’ using some E6000 glue.
So that’s it! A super easy and thrifty Love sign that you can display on your mantel for the loved-up month of February. Remember to check out the rest of the awesome vinyl available from Tape Technologies and StyleTech Craft.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
